Metroport Meals on Wheels Service Project
Jul 15, 2023 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Rotary Service Project with Metroport Meals On Wheels

Saturday, July 15, 2023

We invite you to help deliver fruit baskets to MMOW’s homebound participants on Saturday, July 15th.

Time:               MMOW Office or a central meeting point in your community

                        9:00 a.m.—11:00 a.m.

Where:           428 N Hwy 377

                        Roanoke

RSVP by          Thursday, July 13th

Please use Sign Up Genius Link in your email or text me at 817-933-2039.

Teams of 2 will deliver fruit baskets to MMOW's homebound participants. Maps, directions, supplies and contact info will be distributed at MMOW’s office or a central meeting point in your community.

This project is a great one if members want to include children or grandchildren - especially if they have community service hours to complete during the summer.

We need to have a good headcount in order to set up the most efficient routes - we will try to keep it to a maximum of 12 stops per team, fewer stops the greater the number of teams.

Thanks you so much for carving out time to join us for this fun morning. This terrific Rotary effort has meant so much to our homebound participants over the years!

Please let me know if you have questions or need additional information.  We should be through by 11:00 at the latest.  Historically, most groups finish earlier.

Board Planning Session (Members/Officers Only)
Jul 16, 2023 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

This will be a general board planning session for Rotary. It is an important gathering where the club's board members will come together to strategize, set goals, and plan activities for the upcoming term. Key points for a successful planning session:

  1. Define Objectives: Begin by clearly identifying the purpose and objectives of the planning session. This could include reviewing the club's mission, assessing past performance, and setting specific goals for the upcoming term.

  2. Review Current Status: Take stock of the club's current projects, initiatives, and membership. Evaluate their effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and discuss any ongoing challenges or opportunities.

  3. Establish Priorities: Determine the club's top priorities for the term. Consider the areas where the club can have the most significant impact and align them with Rotary's focus areas, such as community service, youth programs, international projects, or fundraising.

  4. Set SMART Goals: Create specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals for each priority area. Break them down into actionable steps and assign responsibilities to board members or committees.

  5. Plan Activities and Projects: Brainstorm and outline potential activities, events, and projects that align with the club's goals. Consider both ongoing initiatives and new ideas. Discuss timelines, required resources, and potential partnerships.

  6. Financial Planning: Evaluate the club's financial position and develop a budget that supports the planned activities and projects. Ensure that fundraising efforts align with the club's goals and identify opportunities for securing additional funds or sponsorships.

  7. Membership Development: Discuss strategies for membership growth and engagement. Explore ways to attract new members, retain existing ones, and enhance the overall Rotary experience. Consider mentoring programs, orientation sessions, and member recognition initiatives.

  8. Communication and Public Relations: Discuss how the club can effectively communicate its activities and impact to the community. Explore different communication channels, including social media, newsletters, website updates, and public relations efforts to raise awareness about Rotary's work.

  9. Evaluation and Feedback: Establish mechanisms for monitoring progress and evaluating the success of planned activities and projects. Regularly review and assess the club's performance, seeking feedback from members and the community to make necessary adjustments.

  10. Follow-up and Implementation: Assign tasks, establish deadlines, and create an action plan for implementing the decisions made during the planning session. Monitor progress regularly and provide support and resources as needed.

The Golden Triangle Rotary is excited to hold this planning session where we will determine how we will provide for the community.

How to improve yourself

Aug 24, 2023 7:00 AM

Justin Winstead,
‍CEO & Coach

Growing up in a rural area and with meager means, Justin could have easily given up on his goals. Instead, he chose to use his circumstances as motivation to create a better life for himself. He pursued an education, attended seminary, and started his own successful business. Justin's story is an inspiration to anyone who has faced adversity in their lives, showing that with a clear purpose and a productive mindset, anything is possible.

Today, Justin is a leader in his field, having sold his successful insurance company to pursue his passion for coaching and consulting full-time. Through the Improver Group, Justin is helping other faith-driven business owners and leaders to achieve their goals and reach their full potential. His insight-focused coaching, consulting, and training has already helped countless individuals and companies to be better versions of who they were meant to be.
